Lent is right around the corner, which means it’s time for – you guessed it – Mardi Gras! Come out to Tybee Island for a festive Fat Tuesday celebration that is sure to be family friendly and truly spectacular. Stay at River’s End Campground and RV Park and make a vacation out of it!
The event starts on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at noon in the Tybrisa roundabout. Come out for the biggest block party – the Mardi Gras Street Party! This totally family friendly event will carry on until 6 p.m. Live bands will play from 12:30 – 6 p.m., and The Christy Alan Band will kick off the party! The food tent will feature crawfish and Cajun gumbo, and the beverage tent will serve beer.
Then, the Mardi Gras Parade will march down the street at 2 p.m., beginning at Memorial Park and following Butler Avenue to the Tybrisa Roundabout. Think you have what it takes to win a costume contest? Step up to claim your prize after the parade. Winners will be crowned Mardi Gras Tybee King and Queen. The royalty will lead the street dance with boot-shuffling music from the Zydeco Band.
It’s going to be the biggest celebration in Tybee Island, and you don’t want to miss it! So pack up the family and head out for a fabulous February getaway.
