Fort Pulaski Offers Candle Lantern Tours

Come see Fort Pulaski like you’ve never seen it before. The Fort becomes a celebrated holiday attraction in Savannah every December. Stay at River’s End in Tybee Island for a Christmas vacation unlike any other.

rivers end lantern tourFt. Pulaski Candle Lantern Tours take place December 19 – 20, 2014. Come out for an exclusive tour of the Confederate garrison at night by the light of candles and oil lamps. The Fort commemorates the Confederate Nog Party of 1861, which allowed soldiers to relax for a short night as impending battle loomed overhead.

The Fort, equipped with cannons, was decorated with holiday garlands in 1861, and fine delicacies were sent down from the city. Come celebrate this lighthearted moment of Fort Pulaski’s history with hot cider, cookies, music, caroling and nighttime firings of historical weapons.

You must make reservations to attend, and you can do so by calling 912-786-5787. The cost is $5 per adult and children 15 and under are free.
